The Wrangler/Shooting Guide plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences at Lajitas Golf Resort by leading horseback trail rides and guided shooting sports activities. This position ensures the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests while maintaining the highest standards of animal care, firearm safety, and facility upkeep. The Wrangler/Shooting Guide embodies the spirit of the West, providing expert instruction and creating memorable adventures for guests of all skill levels.
- Oversee daily operations and general maintenance of the stables, barn area, and shooting facilities
- Feed, groom, and exercise horses; assess horse readiness and match animals to rider experience levels
- Prepare horses and riders for guided trail rides, ensuring all tack is properly fitted and secure
- Conduct safe and informative trail rides, offering guidance and support to guests throughout the ride
- Lead shooting sports activities, including firearm instruction and safety briefings for guests
- Clean, maintain, and safely store firearms, ensuring all weapons are unloaded when not in use
- Educate guests on trail riding and firearm safety procedures in a clear and engaging manner
- Load, unload, move, and properly store hay, feed, tack, and other equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment in all areas of operation
- Assist with special events, guest requests, and other duties as assigned by management
