We have a position available immediately for leading guided trail rides North of Jackson, WY.
1, 2, 4 and all day horseback rides in the Bridger-Teton National Forest out of our Forest Service permitted trailhead near Turpin Meadows public trailhead 45 miles North of Jackson, WY.
Duties include: Catch, saddle and bridle horses. Load guests on horses and take them on previously listed trail rides. Adjust bridles and stirrups for the guests. Guides will have up to 10 riders with them, anymore and there will be 2 guides. Help catch, saddle and pack the morning that pack trips leave the trailhead. No packing experience required. Help unpack and unsaddle when pack trips return to the trailhead. Unsaddle and put away trail riding horses. Feed horses and make sure they have water.
Employees will live in a wall tent with a mattress on a frame, lantern and wood stove.
Trail rides are open Monday-Saturday from 8 AM – 6 PM. Feeding will happen after rides conclude. Start time depends on how big the rides are and when the first ride is. Start time will be early on days pack trips are headed into the wilderness.
Season for trail rides ends August 31. Availability to stay on as the trailhead manager for hunting season. Please ask for more info on that job if interested. Salary and hours are different.
Trailhead manager will provide meals on work days. Wifi available by the saddle fly. There is no cell service at the trailhead.
