Come ride horses and work in beautiful West Yellowstone Montana; the closest dude ranch to Yellowstone National Park; just 10 minutes from the West gate entrance to the park!

You must be hardworking and a team-player; this role will require you to work long and hard hours, including very early mornings. Wranglers must have a teachable attitude and take direction from our Head Wrangler. You must have great people skills, love the outdoors, people and horses, as well as present an authentic western appearance.

The ideal candidate is a team-player, self-starter, calm under pressure, responsible, and professional. While this is a horseback riding role, this is primarily a customer service position! You must be patient and kind to guests while ensuring their safety and enjoy talking during the mountain ride with the guests.

Our wrangler’s primary responsibility is to lead our guests safely into the backcountry on 1, 2 and 4 hour mountain rides. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: guiding and tailing trail rides, caring for over 100 horses, teaching guests basic horsemanship skills, maintaining tack and equipment, fencing, trail clearing, general ranch maintenance, cleaning the stalls, bringing along young and green horses, basic doctoring and wrangling in the morning and evening.

Looking for wranglers to start May 1st and work through October. You work long days from sunrise to sunset; 5 1/2 days per week with 1 day and a half day off each week.

Housing and 3 meals per day included.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Great horsemanship
  • Leading and guiding trail rides of guests with various experience levels
  • Feeding, grooming and tacking horses
  • Keeping corral, barn and tack room areas cleaned up
  • Ensure safety of guest and horses on all trail rides
  • Ability to adjust to short-notice changes
  • Various ranch projects as fencing, cutting and stacking wood
