D&S Alaskan trail rides is hiring immediately for the summer 2024 season in the wonderful last frontier! We have been providing horseback and horse-drawn wagon excursions in Alaska for over 20 years and looking to hire multiple people in all positions. So, if you are interested in a summer spent on horseback and the opportunity for unique Alaskan adventures, you might be the right fit for us!

Our tours run from May – September for princess cruise lines as well as the occasional private individuals. We offer a two-hour horseback trail ride, as well as a two-hour horse-drawn wagon ride. These rides leave three times a day, every day of the week. Located just north of Trapper Creek, you will be in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, surrounded by breathtaking views, wildlife encounters, and the joy of giving people the time of their life and the chance at new experiences. Our wagon ride includes a stop at our stunning viewpoint, followed up by gold panning, s’more making, and of course, kissing reindeer!

Room and board are included. Our 9-bedroom bunkhouse also includes two fully functioning bathrooms, washer and dryer access, a full kitchen, and a living room with a community tv and internet. As vendors, our employees also receive incredible discounts on all other excursions offered through the cruise lines, and the lodge offers a shuttle to and from Talkeetna multiple times a day. It’s a wonderful place to spend your day off and catch a few Alaskan adventures and some great grub!

We are looking to hire multiple wranglers, and an experienced teamster would receive a warm welcome. Experience is great, but not necessarily a requirement. Although this job is a lot of fun, it is also hard work. With 30+ horses to care for daily, you can expect to groom, tack, and feed the herd, as well as guide rides, maintain the grounds, and other daily tasks that come with working and living the ranch life. Individuals thinking of applying should be willing to work hard and as a team, have a can-do attitude, and be okay with the occasional mishaps that come with living in the Alaskan wilderness.

We would love to hear from you and look forward to another great season here at D&S Alaskan trail rides! Feel free to call the number provided below and send in your resumes to our inbox!

Salary: $2,000 a month, and $2,000 at end of season (if you work until end of season)
