We are seeking a seasoned, passionate Camp Chef to deliver premium dining experiences at a trophy elk hunting camp that serves high end clientele. Our luxury camp includes a state-of-the-art mobile kitchen trailer outfitted with high-end appliances to support gourmet preparation in a remote setting.

This is not a typical camp cooking job — our guests expect chef-driven cuisine, personalized service, and a high-touch hospitality experience after long days afield. Your meals will be a key part of the story they take home.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute gourmet, protein-rich menus regional specialties, and premium cuts.
  • Prepare three daily meals for 10–20 guests and staff, with rotating menus and seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintain impeccable food presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards in a mobile commercial kitchen.
  • Accommodate special dietary requests (gluten-free, keto, allergies, etc.).
  • Coordinate provisioning, inventory, and remote camp resupply logistics with outfitter team.
  • Manage daily kitchen operations: prep, service, cleanup, and trash disposal.
  • Engage with guests; hospitality and rapport-building are part of the chef’s role.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years professional culinary experience (resort, lodge, catering, private chef).
  • Prior experience in hunting camps, fly-in lodges, or remote field kitchens strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills; must work independently.
  • Creative, flexible menus that reflect wilderness luxury and the energy needs of active hunters.
  • Food safety certification
  • Ability to operate confidently in a self-contained, luxury mobile kitchen trailer (e.g., 40’ trailer with convection ovens, commercial refrigeration, dishwashing station, and food storage)

About Our Clientele

Our guests are affluent outdoor enthusiasts who expect discreet, world-class service in the field.

These high-end clients value:

  • Exclusivity and privacy
  • Premium game hunting and trophy experiences
  • Boutique hospitality and detail-oriented service
  • You must be able to read the room, adapt your service style to match expectations, and deliver the same polish they’d receive in a luxury resort.

Work Conditions & Seasonality

  • This is a seasonal position during elk hunting season (approx. 5 weeks from early September through early October), potentially renewable annually.
  • The role requires full-time camp residency (housing and food included).
  • Access to Wi-Fi or phone is limited but available (Starlink); must be comfortable with remote, off-grid living.
  • A team-focused, can-do attitude is essential—our crew supports each other beyond strict job titles.

Compensation & Tips

  • Base salary: Depending on experience and references.
  • Gratuities are common from satisfied high-end guests.
