Cobb Charolais Ranch Inc.
Full time employee needed for small mechanized feedlot with general ranch work on a scenic family ranch located in foothills of Rocky Mountains west of Augusta, Montana. 600+ mother cows, and seedstock bull development in feedlot. We do not use horses or cattle dogs, only ATV’s, side-by-sides, pickups and tractors.
Experience in welding, tractor operation, machinery repairs, vehicle maintenance a must. Some construction experience a plus.
Employee must be physically fit, able to learn to operate conveyor belt/auger feedlot machinery, tractors, haying equipment, wire fencing repairs, able to learn calving duties including first time calving heifers, cattle health doctoring, branding, vaccinations, low-stress cattle handling methods, some light record-keeping. Will work as a team with other employees.
Not a ‘cowboy’ or manager position. Work 6 days/week, but calving season and haying require 7 days per week. Previous employee had been here for 13 years.
Salary is negotiable $2000 to $2200 DOE to start, with a 2 bedroom partially furnished log house, includes all utilities including fiber-optic internet, and beef provided. Valid driver’s license required, plus drug-free required for safety and insurance issues.
