Blue Heron Dev Co is a private, members-only, family-oriented Hunting and Fishing Club
Located in Porter Township, Pike County, PA. We own 1,805 acres of forest and wildlife habitat areas, 20 acres of wildlife habitat improvement plots, a 95-acre lake, and a one-mile-long stream that drains into Porter’s Lake. We have lodge facilities for meetings and social gatherings. The lodge is open to all stockholders and members. The lodge also has our full-time caretaker’s quarters.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate contractors and timelines for:
- Property Maintenance / Improvement
- Entry roadway
- Water control structures for dam management
Land & Wildlife Management:
- Develop and maintain wildlife habitats for deer, turkey, and bear
- Monitor and enhance game presence across the property
Property Maintenance & Equipment Operation:
- Operate and maintain mowers, tractors, and other equipment
- Perform general construction tasks
- Utilize skills in carpentry and mechanical repair as needed
- Patrolling the property
- Caring for the grounds (mowing, trimming, tree trimming, and removal)
- Housekeeping – Keeping the lodge clean and inviting
- Additional duties may include various projects as may be requested
Event Support:
- Assist with setup and logistics for special occasions
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to operate and maintain equipment
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Skills in carpentry and mechanical repair are highly valued
- Excellent communication skills – spoken, written, email, and phone
- Understanding of wildlife habitat management
- Enjoys working outdoors and shares a deep appreciation for nature and family spaces
- Trustworthy, reliable, and family-oriented
- Proficiency in basic computer software
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Interest and experience in hunting and fishing
- Service-oriented disposition.
- Ability and desire to live on-site at the Club full-time
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as a tractor, mower, splitter, chainsaw
- Mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing skills are desirable
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Compensation & Perks
- Compensation Package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Package includes full-time residence (onsite 4-bedroom, 1 bath apartment in clubhouse), all utilities, salary, healthcare contribution, paid annual vacation, and more
- Additional business opportunities/ income related to club operations are also available
A valid driver’s license is required.
A background check will be required.
Salary: $40k-$50k salary – $75k-85k total compensation package (additional income opportunities available)
