Bar NI Ranch
The Bar NI Ranch is a privately owned, remote 36,000 acre private guest ranch located in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of southern Colorado. Ranging from 8000 to almost 14000 feet, we have open pasture, woodlands, stunning vistas, alpine lakes, mountains and streams, with about 25% of the ranch is above tree line. The facilities are comprised of a main lodge, several cabins and the associated barns and utility buildings. We have a well equipped commercial kitchen. We provide lodging and meals to our guests. Our guests take part in guided trail rides, hiking, jeep rides, fishing and plain old fashioned relaxation. We have hundreds of miles of horse trails and jeep roads.
We are looking for an experienced, confident cook for our kitchen to work alternating swing shifts (approx 45/hour week), with the assistance of an assigned prep cook and as well as other kitchen staff during busy times. Room and board are provided and you will share in the tip pool and have access to all of the activities we provide our guests. There is a season end bonus based on performance. Substantial discounts are offered to friends and family of staff members who wish to visit the ranch.
We offer what can be called “healthy, home cooking” and we accommodate vegetarian, gluten free and other dietary needs. Originality is encouraged.
This position will require menu planning, supervising the kitchen help during shift, cooking and presenting a balanced meal to our guests and staff in a calm, professional manner. The average guest load is around 20 but we can accommodate up to about 45. There are typically around 20 staff members. This position is seasonal and begins mid-April and ends in mid-November. Compensation will be based on experience.
