The Chef at Sanctuary Ranch plays a critical role in our guests’ experience. We are looking for a person who is passionate about cooking and providing a pleasurable dining experience. The Chef should also have the desire and ability to professionally interact and socialize with the guests when not busy in the kitchen. You would be working directly with our head Chef Jim Wood, gaining experience and knowledge from his 20+ years in the industry. In addition to head Chef at Sanctuary, Jim Wood is a culinary graduate from Schoolcraft, has his bachelors from Madonna University in Hospitality Management, Executive Chef/ Operating partner for Antlers Fireside Grill and CL Pizza Co. and is the on-camera chef for Michigan Out of Doors TV.
The position is seasonal, beginning mid-August and will end on or near December. This position is considered to be an independent contracted position that will result in Miscellaneous 1099 income requiring the worker to be responsible for his or her own income and social security taxes. Compensation includes a daily wage, on-site housing, and gratuities. There is availability to work at one of our two local restaurants prior to season starting, which would give the opportunity to get to know the area and work closely with Jim before season.
