Are you passionate about cooking but equally in love with the great outdoors? We are seeking a hardworking, versatile individual to join our private, wildlife-only ranch in South Texas (no domestic livestock). This is a rare and exciting opportunity to cook for a wonderful family while spending most of your year actively working in nature!
Your Role During Hunting Season (October – January):
- Culinary Focus: Your primary focus will be cooking for the ranch owners’ family and friends. This is a private, relaxed environment—no paid hunters, no paid guests, and rarely any large groups. You will usually only cook a few days a week, aside from the rut and holiday weeks.
- Wildlife Assistance: When the kitchen is closed, you’ll head outside to help fill feeders, clean ranch vehicles, and manage receipts. You will also get to be hands-on with our wildlife program by helping to hunt white-tailed deer for population management, field dressing, and assisting with darting DMP bucks for genetic enhancement.
Your Role in the Off-Season (February – September):
- Outdoor Ranch Work: Cooking is rarely needed outside of hunting season! Instead, you will transition to full-time outdoor ranch work. You will experience a wide variety of activities, including equipment operation, cleaning water troughs, and tackling all the exciting projects necessary to keep the ranch thriving.
