Focus Ranch
Focus Ranch is located 50 miles west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and 30 miles east of Baggs, Wyoming. Half the ranch is in Wyoming and the other half in Colorado. The Little Snake River runs for about 2 miles through the ranch. We are a working cattle and guest ranch, taking a small number of guests from spring to fall (22 max.), who like to have an active vacation in a peaceful, semi-remote setting. We have been a guest ranch since the late 1930’s and members of the Dude Ranch Association. We hire a staff of about 9.
Available Positions: Wranglers; Cooks; Guest personnel

Cook: high quality/family style, from scratch, 3 meals/day. Need not be a chef or professional cook as we have hired individuals who were self-taught, family cooks, culinary students and those with similar backgrounds. Must be proficient in cooking/baking and able to follow recipes. Job includes supervising other employees in the kitchen; maintaining food safety standards as well as a safe/clean work environment; assisting with weekly meal planning. Must be able to work well with others. Baking skills important as we make fresh breads, desserts etc. Some on the job training provided to those who need “brushing up” in an area.
Dates: Now to October 15th approx.
Guest Ranch Personnel: We are looking for individuals (females encouraged) who will enjoy working on a ranch in a hospitality role. You must have a cheerful attitude, work well with others and willing to meet the guests’ daily needs. Starting now and ending dates can be flexible. The guest duties include: housekeeping, dining room tasks, washing dishes, laundry etc. In addition, there are outdoor and ranch chores: feeding barnyard animals, gardening, ranch maintenance. At times, there will be opportunities to assist with kids’ activities, shuttle guests to town, airport and local attractions. If interested and able to ride, can also help with cattle. Dates: Now until October but can be flexible ending date.
All Positions: We provide housing, home-cooked meals, WiFi connection, laundry services and more. The pay depends on experience and includes a monthly salary, tips as you earn them and a bonus at the end of the season. Days off-1.5 per week.
No pets. Vehicle is optional and encouraged.
