Domestic couple wanted to work in a private home and on the surrounding estate. Housing is negotiable. If needing to relocate, must be done before starting work. There are two positions the couple will fulfill: Property and Grounds Employee and Professional Private Home Housekeeper. Job descriptions below.

1. PROPERTY AND GROUNDS EMPLOYEE: Under the direction of the Residential Property Manager, this position will be responsible for upkeep of a private residence, adjacent facilities, and surrounding land ensuring that the properties are always maintained to the highest possible standards and operating conditions. This employee will provide high level support, including the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. This position is full-time and “at will.”

DUTIES to include but not limited to:

  • Outdoor Maintenance: including cleaning and maintenance of outdoor living and parking spaces, exterior lighting, care of plants and trees, maintain and clean fountains and filters, maintain all walking paths and trails including spreading mulch/rocks in summer and keeping clear of snow in winter.
  • Pool operation and maintenance: including start up in spring, and winterizing prior to winter. When pool is open for use, daily maintenance including checking and maintaining chemical levels, temperature, and any other regular maintenance.
  • Animal care: assisting with care for dogs and chickens which includes feeding, veterinarian/grooming appointments, and cleanup after the animals. Fill water containers on property for wildlife.
  • Home Interior: perform and oversee work as assigned by the Residential Property Manager including replacing light bulbs, general maintenance, and assisting with upkeep as needed.
  • Motor pool: Clean, maintain, and assist with servicing motor vehicles and off-road vehicles, including filling gas tanks and charging electric vehicles.
  • Deliveries. Run errands and accept deliveries as assigned.
  • Communication: Promptly and proactively communicate with Residential Property Manger during emergencies, including severe weather events, and all matters involving security and safety at the property.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Employer.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have demonstrated prior experience working on grounds of a luxury home for a private employer with first-class service.
  • Honesty, trust, consistency and dependability are critical to the success of this position
  • The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with other staff members and household occupants.
  • Excellent judgment regarding decisions about household maintenance and management
  • Knowledge of and able to operate heavy equipment
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of construction and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of machines and tools commonly used, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner along with a commitment to creating a positive culture. Experience and success with managing a small team is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, plan, prioritize, organize and complete work to meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additional education or training in home/property management is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license

SCHEDULE: Day shift generally Monday – Friday, rotating weekends as assigned. Flexibility is a must dependent upon Employer’s schedule.

2. PROFESSIONAL PRIVATE HOME HOUSEKEEPER: this position is responsible for excellent housekeeper of a private residence. Must have demonstrated prior experience cleaning a luxury home for a private employer with first-class service. This position is part-time and “at will.”

DUTIES to include but not be limited to:

  • The housekeeper will be responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of the home, the adjacent guest house, and outbuildings. This includes:
  • Following the cleaning schedule
  • Cleaning rooms and tidying common spaces
  • Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
  • Disinfecting surfaces
  • Dusting surfaces and baseboards
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
  • Making beds and changing linens
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces
  • Washing dishes
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all closets, cabinets, and drawers
  • Care for various surfaces with care: marble, wood, glass, stainless steel, artwork, polish silver and glass, etc.
  • Daily personal laundry with care: wash and fold, iron laundry, wash bed linen, kitchen linen, and coordinate professionals to care for drapery
  • Organize all areas: closets, drawers, pantry, kitchen, and garage cabinets, etc.
  • Monitoring household supplies and ensuring that all necessary items, such as cleaning supplies, toiletries, and household items, are stocked and replenished
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
  • Preparing guest rooms for visitors
  • Occasional grocery shopping, with credit card and car provided
  • Pet care for 2-3 dogs as needed
  • Occasional light cooking
  • Clean up after meals, organizing/cleaning pantry and refrigerator
  • Serving small plates / platters / beverages to guests
  • Checking plants and watering when necessary
  • Communicate regularly with Employer regarding condition of property, status of projects, and any concerns about the property.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Employer.
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have previous experience in the proper care of high-end surfaces, fixtures, furnishings, and finishes, and maintaining appliances.
  • Experience with washing, steaming, ironing, folding, and caring for luxury linens & delicate fabrics.

SCHEDULE: Day shift generally 4-5 hours per day Monday – Friday. Some weekends and extra hours as needed. Flexibility is a must dependent upon Employer’s schedule.
