Cibolo Creek Ranch
The Role
This is a working Executive Chef role, not a desk position.
You will be on the line, leading the kitchen, setting the standard, and building a team that performs. This role requires daily involvement in prep, service, and execution – not oversight from a distance.
Cibolo Creek Ranch is a high-end, luxury destination property set in a remote West Texas landscape. Guests come for an elevated, immersive experience, and the culinary program is a central part of that.
If you want to run a real kitchen, take ownership of the outcome, and deliver a refined product in a unique setting, this is that role.
What You’ll Do
• Lead from the front – actively cooking and present during service
• Set and enforce high standards for food quality, execution, and presentation
• Train and develop the kitchen team – fundamentals, consistency, discipline
• Build a cohesive, accountable team that performs under pressure
• Oversee all prep, plating, and service execution
• Develop and refine menus rooted in upscale American and Mexican cuisine
• Manage ordering, inventory, food cost, and waste
• Maintain strict organization – labeling, FIFO, storage standards
• Ensure the kitchen is fully prepped and service-ready at all times
• Work closely with ranch leadership to align the culinary program with the guest experience
• Uphold high standards of sanitation and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
• Proven, hands-on chef who leads from the line
• 3–5+ years in a high-expectation kitchen with leadership responsibility
• Ability to train and elevate a team, not just execute personally
• Strong understanding of American and Mexican cuisine
• Organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Experience in luxury hospitality, resort, or destination properties is a strong plus
The Environment
This is not a city restaurant, but it is a luxury guest experience.
You will be operating within a refined, high-standard hospitality environment, set against a remote and rugged West Texas backdrop.
• High-end guest expectations
• Elevated dining standards and presentation
• Small, tight-knit team
• Direct impact on the overall guest experience
• Opportunity to shape and elevate the culinary program
Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience
Participation in service share and performance bonus programs
Housing provided
Total compensation potential: $90,000 – $120,000+
Final compensation will reflect experience, leadership ability, and overall fit for a hands-on executive role.
Logistics
• Located south of Marfa, Texas
• Housing provided (short-term, with potential longer-term options)
• Schedule includes weekends and holidays
Final Note
This role is for someone who can deliver a refined, high-quality product in a remote environment.
If you prefer a purely administrative role or a large, layered kitchen structure, this will not be the right fit.
If you want to lead from the front, build a strong team, and execute at a high level in a unique setting, we want to talk.
