Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced full-time Farm Manager to manage the overall operation of a privately owned, 1,000 plus acre, hunting and farming operation in Louisiana year-round. The farm is primarily used for the entertainment and enjoyment of the owners, their families, friends, clients, and employees. The farm does not offer commercial hunting and includes a stocked lake, with the main attraction being deer and duck hunting.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Safety mindset / culture
  • Needs to be available 24/7 as needed for the owners and guests
  • Must have experience managing a wildlife and farming operation
  • Excellent leadership
  • Excellent communication skills – ownership, guests, employees, suppliers, and vendors
  • Capability to host and support guests with a user-friendly personality
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Working knowledge of septic, well, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Able to work outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Oversee and manage all farm operations including safety, property, facilities, wildlife/hunting, employees, and guest experience
  • Manage existing farm employees
  • Help develop and manage annual budget
  • Help manage all outside suppliers and vendors
  • Meet with farm guests to provide an overview and orientation of activities available during their stay
  • Develop and manage a maintenance and housekeeping program for the main lodge and all other housing facilities that will ensure all facilities remain in top working order and have a high level of cleanliness
  • Attain training needed to improve and keep up with the needs of the farm
  • Support farm guests in use of property during frequent and regular presence on site, including assistance with grocery shopping, and other tasks relating to use and enjoyment of the farm including all entertainment the farm offers
