Reiss Seeds is hiring a Farm and Ranch Hand to join their diverse family operation in Weskan, Kansas.

The ideal applicant will be proficient in operating and maintaining farm equipment, have a passion for show cattle and the ability to thrive in a diverse, team orientated work environment.

The Reiss family is known nationwide for their club calves.

Farm and Ranch Hand Compensation & Benefits:

  • $18-24 per hour

Farm and Ranch Hand job duties:

  • Assist with Planting
  • Maintain irrigation systems
  • Safely operate a combine and grain cart during harvest
  • Bale hay
  • Knowledge and experience operating John Deere equipment and technology
  • Conduct routine livestock inspections on cattle
  • Manage the herd health and well-being using low stress techniques
  • Assist with calving
  • Assist with embryo transfer
  • Feed, water and put out salt and minerals
  • Identify and treat sick cattle
  • Process and work cattle regularly
  • Rotate cattle on pastures and corn stalks
  • Install and fix fence
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment

Farm and Ranch Hand Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends for chores

The Farm and Ranch Hand must have an acceptable driving record as reflect by MVR. A Class A CDL is not required, but preferred.
