Buyan Ranch Inc. is seeking a long-term, dependable, hardworking individual or family to join our operation as a full-time Farm & Ranch hand. Looking for someone to work with the family operation. This position includes a variety of responsibilities involving cattle care, farming, mechanical work, property maintenance, and general ranch duties. This job is not just a cowboy job. We do expect some experience in ranching and farming.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, strong ethic, honesty, responsible, mechanically inclined and able to work independently as well as with others. Willing to learn and to listen to how we want things done. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Primary duties may include doing all aspects of ranching, calving, feeding, checking livestock, branding, maintain fences and facilities, irrigation (pivots, hand line), haying, potatoes, operating tractors, farm equipment and other general farm and ranch responsibilities as needed. We do use horses in the summer moving cattle around to different summer pasture but mainly use 4 wheelers around the ranch.
Days start at 8:00 am averaging approx. 40 – 50 hours per week. Usually, the day ends around 5:00 pm but there are days that could be much longer. Most weekends you will have off. Some weekend work will be required depending on livestock needs, weather calving season, potato harvest and other responsibilities during the summer. Hours may vary throughout the year.
What we provide:
Three bedroom – very clean small home is available. The ranch is just a few miles from Sheridan, with schools, hospital, outdoor swimming pool during summer, grocery store and etc. We do expect you to keep the house the way you find it and also the yard. All utilities are included.
Ranch vehicle for the workday will be available.
Half a beef
Salary: Will be negotiated with experience. Will be paid twice a month (raises are performance-based and are given throughout the year as well as a bonus when they have been earned.
