A long established, family owned and family-friendly, 600+ commercial cattle, grain and hay ranch/farm in East Central Minnesota is seeking a farm/ranch hand. Candidate will be responsible for day to day activities on a cow/calf, backgrounding, hay and grain operation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: cattle care (feeding, pasture rotation, doctoring and handling), fence construction and repair, farm equipment operation, maintenance and minor repair, hay and grain crop production.
Ranch horse experience is desirable but not required. Candidate will work as a team with the on site ranch/farm manager and fellow ranch/farm employees.
Desirable qualities in a candidate include honesty, a strong work ethic, reliability, team player, love for animals, love for ranching and production agriculture and someone who likes to have fun and enjoys physical labor.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more and be able to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Candidate must meet legal requirements for employment in the United States.
Salary is based on experience. Entry level salary begins at $30,000/year and includes housing, paid utilities, paid vacation and beef. Applicants with 2 or more years of experience will begin at $40,000 per year. Salary is negotiable.
