We live on a beautiful, small, farm in the upstate of South Carolina. It is not as beautiful as it could be as we cannot do all the work anymore. We are seeking to hire someone to maintain our little slice of heaven.
Our 300+ acres consist of grazing pastures, hay fields, ponds and food plots for wildlife. Candidate must have a passion for the land and a passion for nourishing it. Our farm is home to a a small herd of Dexter cattle, horses, donkeys and laying hens.
It is essential that the applicant shows proficiency in the following: animal husbandry, light woodworking including fencing and barn repair, operation, maintenance and repair of farm machinery and implements, landscape maintenance, operation and maintenance of mowers, chain saws, blowers etc. and basic knowledge of grass production. Skill in metal work and welding preferred but not required.
Most importantly, the candidate must be trustworthy, dependable, hardworking and self motivated. Also, willing to adjust their task list as Mother Nature dictates. In return, you will be provided with a 3-4 day work week, excellent salary (+/- $30,000 year depending on skill set), paid time off, dental benefits, possible health insurance availability. You must have a valid drivers license, provide own transportation and a clear criminal record. Background check and random drug testing performed.
