We’re a family-owned operation located Bridger, MT in Carbon County. We grow a variety of crops on 2,500 acres including a focus on CRP to promote and enhance wildlife habitats, we also maintain a small farm with some livestock and dogs.

We take pride in taking care of our land and our goal is to create one of the best upland bird and big game hunting habitats. We are a brand-new operation and are looking for a self-starter who shares our passion for agriculture and in sustaining the land for generations to come. We’re hiring for a Farm Caretaker/Manager to join our Family. This role works closely with the owners on the execution of a crop and conservation plan and would lead the day-to-day operations.

This is a hands-on role where you would be operating farm equipment, running irrigation, feeding livestock, and managing fields and fencing all while leading daily operations and maintenance of a small farm. We’re looking for someone that has strong farming experience and is comfortable in a role where you are operating and working alone. The ideal candidate would bring a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and honesty. Included in the compensation package is a brand-new house fit for a family, with all utilities covered. An ideal candidate would bring: Row crop farming experience (dryland) along with mechanical ability to be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and buildings. A desire to be part of small town living in a close-knit community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the owner on operational tasks, labor management, crop management, planning, and day-to-day execution of farming practices.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, equipment and time.
  • During growing season, manage field operations including planting, irrigation, application of chemical and fertilizer, harvesting and tillage.
  • During the summer, assist with cutting, swathing, baling, and hauling hay.
  • Monitor quality of habitat projects, field work, and data tracking.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance program, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization and appearance of the farm, machinery and landowner properties.
  • Work with owners on suggestions for new improvements, practices, etc. to support a more efficient operation.

Job Requirements

  • Prior farming experience.
  • Must be able to physically work in a farming environment and extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record at all times.
  • Have valid CDL or ability to obtain one.
  • Must have mechanical ability to maintain and operate equipment and irrigation.
  • Must be able to take care of livestock including dogs.
