Wild Eagle Mtn Cattle Ranch
Seeking long term experienced ranch hand in remote South Central Montana. This is not a cowboy type job. Must have prior ranching and cow/calf experience, with the ability to operate, maintain and repair ranch machinery. Duties include feeding and doctoring cattle, move cattle by atv and horseback, extensive calving, fencing, spraying weeds, haying, hauling hay, minor repair ranch equipment and other duties as assigned. This is a full time – permanent position. We run 700-800 head black angus cows year round. We have approx 30,000 acres this includes 650 acres is Alfalfa hay. We do most of our work via 4-Wheelers but do use horses a couple times a month June through October.
What we are looking for someone who is capable of helping in all phase's of ranch work, honest, dependable, motivated. Willing to work alone as well as with others. We work in a drug free/ smoke free environment.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Haying
- Hauling Hay
- Feeding Hay
- Feeding Blocks to cows
- Fixing fence
- Doctoring
- Calving (Very extensive calving)
- Spraying weeds
- Some mechanical work (would include minor repairs & maintenance on equipment)
The successful candidate will posses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, authorize and pass a pre-employment criminal background and reference check
What we provide:
- 4 bedroom House with Utilities (No smoking in house, ranch vehicles, or buildings) (pets upon approval)
- Wage depends on experience
- 6 month probationary period.
- Dental and Health Insurance for entire immediate family (Spouse & children) after 3 months employment
- After 1 year employment we provide a beef the next time we butcher (a beef for a family; 1/2 beef for a single.)
- This is not a management position.
