A well established, Central Montana cow/calf operation is looking to fill a permanent, full time position. This position is for a general, all-around ranch employee. Applicants must be from Montana, or a nearby state, and willing to come to the ranch for an interview.
Duties of this position will include but are not limited to; winter feeding, maintaining livestock water, fencing, weed spraying, calving, doctoring illness in both horses and cattle, all aspects of haying, vehicle maintenance and repair, carpentry, welding and fabrication, plumbing, equipment operation/maintenance and building/infrastructure maintenance along with many other tasks related to a working ranch.
Qualified applicants should posses a strong work ethic and be willing to work as both, part of a team and independently. This position requires a broad range of skill sets and the right candidate will be able to adapt daily to what ever task needs to be done. This is not a “cowboy” position. A combination of ATV’s and horses are used for livestock handling and other ranch duties.
Knowledge of operating ATV’s safely and efficiently is strongly desired. The ranch also has a no dog policy while on the job. Dogs are not allowed near cattle or livestock facilities. The position has a competitive compensation package depending on experience. The housing is suitable for a single person or couple, with two bedrooms and one bath.
Interested parties should email a resume and cover letter with reliable work references. Serious applicants only, please. If you do not send a resume and letter of intent your email will be discarded. Thank you so much!
