Hospitality & Maintenance Roles (Live-In, starting May 1)
We are seeking a caretaker couple to live on and help steward a working ranch in western Wyoming. This is a long-term, hands-on role combining guest hospitality, residential maintenance, and general property care, in close coordination with our Ranch Manager who oversees the agricultural operation. We are open to one person being part time.
Our family is looking to hire a couple for ranch caretaker/hospitality roles. We are three generations with the youngest being a newborn. We live elsewhere and gather at the ranch throughout the year with family and friends. The ranch is located in Northwest Wyoming, about an hour from Cody, within the wildlife rich Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
There is a ranch manager who lives there and will stay. He runs the agricultural program, which consists of cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep, and gardens in the summer.
We are looking to add a couple to take care of housekeeping; plan and oversee the kitchen gardens; maintain non-agricultural buildings and grounds; open and close cabins in the summer/winter; stock kitchens and cook for groups; maintain non-agricultural vehicles; and support the family’s experience at the ranch.
We are seeking kind, lighthearted, emotionally intelligent people; excellent communicators who enjoy engaging with others; people who take pride in caring for a place and find satisfaction in supporting others’ experiences; individuals who are comfortable with hard work and can be flexible as needs change.
Housing and health insurance are provided.
The Roles (Shared Between a Couple)
Guest Experience & Hospitality Focus
- Hosting and supporting guests (from family stays to larger retreats)
- Cabin cleaning, setup, and turnover
- Cooking, food coordination, and stocking
- Warm communication and guest coordination
Maintenance & Operations Focus
- Cabin and residential building maintenance
- Basic repairs, light construction, and preventative care
- Firewood, heating systems, snow removal
- Groundskeeping and landscaping
- Maintenance of family/guest vehicles (not agricultural equipment)
Both partners work together on landscaping, seasonal projects, and keeping the ranch guest-ready within one week’s notice.
Agricultural Collaboration
While not responsible for managing livestock or ag equipment, the caretakers work collaboratively with the Ranch Manager and may lend a helping hand with beef, poultry, and pigs as needed. The couple is primarily responsible for vegetable gardens.
