Looking for a ranch hand for a family run cow/calf operation in rural Southeastern Montana. Candidate must be motivated and able to work in a team setting and on their own! We are 30 minutes from the closest small town and about an hour and a half from the nearest Wal Mart. Housing is provided and pasture for a couple using horses. This is a single position with the opportunity for day labor for a spouse. We encourage couples to apply. We are family oriented with four generations living on the ranch.
A little about the ranch. The ranch runs about 1,000 head of mother cows and uses both horses and atvs for cattle work, this is NOT a cowboy position. Summers are spent haying so equipment experience is a must. Duties will include: feeding cattle during the winter, calving out heifers, branding, cow work, fencing, haying, etc. Mechanical and welding experience is a plus. We do not use dogs on the ranch.
At this time we are looking for someone with cattle and equipment experience that understands working on a ranch isn’t an 8-5 job.
