Job Title: Ranch Landscape and Agriculture Superintendent
Reports to: Ranch Manager
Location: Four Suns Ranch, Woody Creek, Colorado
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Anticipated Schedule: 40 hours a week with the expectation to be available for emergency situations outside of scheduled hours.

Company Overview: Four Suns Ranch is a 250 acre ranch located in Woody Creek, Colorado. Currently undergoing a 5 year development project, the ranch will operate as a sustainable farm to table experience and offer diverse recreational activities that give access to some of Colorado’s most pristine high country.

Job Summary: Are you ready to take on a leadership role where your expertise in landscape and agriculture management will shine? As the Landscape and Agriculture Superintendent at Four Suns Ranch, you’ll actively participate in construction and lead our dedicated team in coordinating all aspects of our landscape and agriculture programs. From meticulous record-keeping to overseeing irrigation system operation and noxious weed management, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and productivity of our ranch. Plus, as a key member of our leadership team, you’ll have the trust and support of our Ranch Manager to drive day-to-day operations forward.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conduct daily monitoring, recording, and monthly state reporting of diversion structure and usage readings.
  • Utilize computer-based central control systems to efficiently schedule irrigation activities.
  • Perform maintenance and operate intricate irrigation pumping and distribution systems.
  • Monitor the installation of new irrigation systems and landscape plantings to ensure they meet quality standards and adhere to specifications.
  • Coordinate scheduling, training, and provide oversight for operations staff.
  • Develop and manage the landscape and agriculture budget effectively.
  • Establish and maintain both new and existing landscape features.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain records for organic fertility and noxious weed management plans.
  • Oversee hay crop production operations.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and record-keeping for ranch operations equipment and recreational vehicles.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of ranch operation facilities.
  • Provide occasional care for animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and grooming.

  • Mechanical Proficiency: Demonstrates proficiency in operating essential tools and conducting equipment repairs when necessary.
  • Physical and Mental Resilience: Possesses the physical and mental stamina required to handle tasks such as lifting, fixing, or manipulating heavy equipment or objects in various weather conditions and seasons. Must exhibit flexibility, prioritize critical tasks, and maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing important information.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Maintains flexibility, prioritizes tasks effectively, and exhibits a high level of attention to detail while managing important information. Must also align with and exemplify the culture defined by Four Suns Ranch.

This role is based in Colorado. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 per year. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to the applicant’s skills, work experience, knowledge, abilities, education, etc. Note that this range may not apply to employees based outside of Colorado.
