Our family-friendly lodge is looking for someone with experience in managing a lodge, with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Ensuring the lodge and property are well maintained and that every guest is 100 percent satisfied with their experience at our lodge is our goal. The property is on 1,700 acres in the Gore Range near Heeney, Colorado (Summit County). This includes Black Lake Lodge (serving up to 12 guests at a time) and a caretaker’s four-bedroom residence. The season is mid-May to mid-October. The ideal candidate(s) should have previous culinary and hospitality experience, including managing staff members selected/provided by the Lodge Manager. We are seeking an independent contractor who will have, or set up, their own LLC. We provide on-site housing in a most gorgeous area of Colorado, lucrative compensation, and other benefits. If you work during the ski season at a mountain resort, this could be an ideal fit for you. Alternatively, some might find they earn enough in 5 months that further work becomes optional.

  • Act as host to Guests, meeting their needs with gracious service and creating a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere
  • Provide expert preparation and service of three meals per day
  • Inspect rooms and common areas for cleanliness, and ensure rooms are set up correctly for new guests and everything is in good repair
  • Purchase food, cooking, lodge and other supplies as needed
  • Manage lodge and surrounding area maintenance, including scheduling and inspecting to ensure repairs are done promptly and accurately
  • Hire and manage help and provide training for new employees
  • Lodge cleaning, bed linen/towels changing in preparation for guests
  • Perform laundry services for linens, towels, cloth napkins, etc
