Position 1:
Breakfast Cook/Baker
The position of Breakfast Cook and Baker includes cooking breakfast for guests and staff, baking bread, cookies, desserts and pastries for all meals, preparation for other meals, washing own dishes and utensils, serving and putting away desserts, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, cooler and equipment and presenting food in a timely and attentive manner. The breakfast cook (and kitchen assistant) may also be expected to prepare lunch and dinner on the Head Chef’s day off. Experience very helpful. Position 2:
Maintenance
Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, vehicle and general ranch operations. Ability to be flexible and act immediately as circumstances arise. Other duties include transporting guests to and from the airport, pool and grounds maintenance, cutting firewood, building fences, building cookout fires, cleaning ranch vehicles and painting. Additional duties may include leading hiking trips, driving guests to trap shooting, town errands or driving guests to other activities. Must be at least 21 years of age and available to work from May 8th to September 30th. Position 3:
Operations
Combination job of housekeeping, serving and trading post. Housekeeping responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the cleaning of guest cabins and common areas of the ranch – changing towels, making and changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash, vacuuming, washing windows, dusting, and various other cleaning related activities. You will also help in the kitchen, and help counselors on the children’s overnight campout, and any other duties assigned.
Wait staff duties include, but are not limited to, serving food to guests and staff in our dining room or at outdoor meals and functions, cleaning of dining room and deck, stocking server’s refrigerator, cleaning server’s areas of the kitchen, and packing for cookouts. Some minor food preparation will also be involved.
Trading Post duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, overseeing the cleanliness, stocking and organization of both the Trading Post and Soda Fountain areas, preparing and serving ice cream, milkshakes, and candy in the Soda Fountain, insuring the Trading Post is covered for the hours assigned, maintain superior customer service and a friendly, “western hospitality” attitude towards guests.
Staff who are hired as operations people will perform all three duties over the course of a week on a rotating basis. We have found that our employees enjoy the chance to learn the different skills associated with each department and the chance to work with different co-workers. We count on staff in both of these areas to be detail oriented and to insure overall superior service and hospitality to our ranch guests. Must be available to work from May 8th to September 30th. Position 4:
Kitchen Assistant
The kitchen assistant is responsible for helping the chef with food preparation and storage as well as the washing and storage of pots, pans, china, flatware, and all kitchen utensils. The kitchen assistant is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of dishwashing area as well as other areas of the kitchen, all garbage removal from the kitchen and cleaning of the kitchen floor at the end of your shift. There will be other duties assigned for the kitchen assistant. Must be available to work from May 8th to September 30th.
