Packers, Horseshoers and Backcountry Cooks needed for Sierra Nevada outfitter in Bishop, California.

July through September 2018

Rock Creek Pack Station offers guided backcountry horseback rides and pack trips in California’s beautiful High Sierra mountains. We travel the John Muir and Pacific Crest Trails and pack extensively throughout Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Our trips range from overnight campouts to 30 day pack trips covering the entire 211 mile John Muir Trail. Our focus is traveling pack trips; moving camp each day and turning the livestock loose at night to graze. Must be comfortable living outdoors and caring for livestock in rough country.

Applicants must have strong work ethic, ranch/livestock background and good horsemanship skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients is essential.

Applicants with packing, horseshoeing or backcountry cooking experience are preferred. However, we will train individuals with the right personality and work ethic.

Salary: $1500-$3000/month DOE + tips
