We are looking for a hardworking and hands on part-time Caretaker/Ranch Manager for our 2,000-acre family recreational and hunting ranch in Napa County, California.

Compensation:

This live in position (on the ranch) comes with the use of a fully furnished caretakers cottage that overlooks beautiful Lake Berryessa, an hourly wage, and use of company vehicle during work hours. This is a part-time position, with the flexibility and understanding that you have/may have additional employment outside of this job. If desired this job could potentially transition to a full-time role (by mutual agreement of amended work schedule and addition of job tasks/duties).

Job description:

Primary duties include pool care, groundskeeping, water system management/irrigation, pond upkeep, regular cleaning, building maintenance, animal feeding and care (llamas, sheep, etc.), security, buying supplies, and coordinating with subcontractors/vendors for onsite appointments. On occasion, be available to help entertain/guide guests at different ranch properties, and potentially gun smithing/range master duties. Ability to be flexible with work schedule/availability on occasion as this is not always a M-F job.

The perfect candidate(s):

Individual or a couple team with experience in similar situation working or managing a rural property. You have expertise in pool care, water system management/irrigation, pond upkeep, groundskeeping and cleaning/maintenance of buildings. You have some experience in all other areas of the job description. The owner does not live on site full time, so you are a diligent worker in unsupervised situations and must be able to complete projects and work independently. You have experience in the following areas: maintaining equipment, some mechanical skills with tools, pond, pool and spa care, landscaping, irrigation, general carpentry, animal care, and housekeeping. You can communicate frequently and clearly with owner on projects and issues and can use a computer for email.

This is a physically demanding job. This is a long-term opportunity for a stable person / couple. You must be eligible to work in the United States, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, no criminal record or outstanding warrants and be drug free.
