Looking for a Ranch Mechanic/Maintenance/Hand position with housing.
My name is Chase, I am 23 and from Washington State but currently living in Alachua, Florida working for Ag-Pro as a small engine technician. I have a girlfriend who would be moving with me, her name is True and we have been together for 5 years. We have an older small dog named Lucy, and a rabbit named Jack.
We are extremely clean and organized people, we keep our house and yard nice. I grew up in Roy, Wa. I had horses, goats, chickens, etc growing up but no cattle, I worked a small scale cattle ranch in high school but mainly maintenance stuff. I wouldn’t say I have great horsemanship skills but I can ride decent enough to get around and would like the opportunity to get better. I don’t have the animal husbandry skills to calf and doctor cattle which is why I am looking for more of a mechanical/maintenance position but I do have a huge passion for animals and would love to learn on the job when opportunities arise.
I started my mechanical career at Herc rentals in late 2021 as a small engine mechanic and eventually worked my way into the larger equipment and was a construction equipment mechanic before I had left in late January of this year. I left for a ranch hand job in Montana with my girlfriend, we unfortunately did not stay long to do the conditions of the housing provided. I came down to Florida after it did not work out because my mom lives down here, was more than welcome to come back to Herc but I just wasn’t interested. I’ve been in Florida ever since working for Ag-Pro, I love my job but I love living rurally and the ranch setting a lot more & I’d really like to grow my horsemanship/animal husbandry skills as well.
