Private Chef – Seasonal (Summer 2026)

A private, multigenerational family is seeking a seasonal Private Chef for Summer 2026 at a lakefront property in northern Wisconsin.
This position is ideal for a chef who is organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently in a private household setting. The role focuses on preparing fresh, seasonal, family-style dinners using high-quality ingredients, including produce from an onsite garden and local sources.

Memorial Day through Labor Day 2026
Schedule
- Dinner service five evenings per week (Tuesday–Saturday)
- Occasional lunch or picnic preparation with advance notice
- Guest count ranges from 6 to 40 (average approximately 10)
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute dinner service five nights per week
- Develop seasonal, rotating menus in coordination with a designated family contact
- Prepare meals for groups of varying size with consistency and efficiency
- Accommodate dietary preferences including gluten-free and vegetarian
- Incorporate garden and locally sourced ingredients when available
- Supervise and coordinate a small support staff (2–5 individuals) assisting with prep, service, and cleanup
- Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and inventory of staple ingredients
- Manage grocery procurement (local market approximately 30 minutes away; mileage reimbursed)
- Prepare occasional picnic-style meals or casual lunches as requested
Work Environment
- Separate dining facility with a large, well-equipped kitchen
- Private lakefront property in a quiet, rural setting
- Access to nearby trails for hiking, biking, and outdoor recreation during off-hours
Compensation & Housing
- $1,400–$2,000 per week, commensurate with experience
- Private on-site housing provided
Qualifications
- Culinary training or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Experience in private homes, small kitchens, or similar environments is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of meal preparation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable cooking for both small and larger groups
- Professional, discreet, and adaptable

Couples will be considered, with the option for a second role assisting in the kitchen or supporting general property/ranch operations.
