Job Title: Ranch Caretaker
Position Type: Seasonal, Part-time (25 hours per week)
Location: Private ranchlands and national forests
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and watering horses, chickens, and Pyrenees
- Groom dogs and horses
- Order and unload hay monthly
- Maintain farm vehicle and perform basic upkeep
- Manage daily manure collection
- Manage daily compost maintenance
- Perform basic carpentry, handyman work, fence, and roofing repairs
- Handle trash, recycling, and compost duties
- Maintain garden soil
Requirements:
- Self-starter with common sense
- Proficient with tools and machinery
- Ability to lead ranch and farm projects
- Capable of heavy lifting (60lbs or more)
- Clean driving record and willingness to undergo a background check
- Clean mental health record
- Drug and alcohol-free
Characteristics:
- Keenly aware
- Effective communicator and team player
- Organized and neat
- Willingness to learn and take direction
This seasonal position runs from April 1st to January 1st. Applicants must have their own RV or Travel Trailer.
The ranch is located inside thousands of private ranchlands and national forests.
