Focus Ranch
Description: Focus Ranch is located 50 miles west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and 30 miles east of Baggs, Wyoming. Half the ranch is in Wyoming and the other half in Colorado. The Little Snake River runs for about 2 miles through the ranch. We are primarily a working cattle ranch. We have been a guest ranch since the late 1930’s and for years members of the Dude Ranch Association and currently an associate member as we no longer take guests. We hire a staff of about 6. This job does not require a professional cook. In the past we have hired family cooks, students, church group cooks as well as professionals who are looking for less stressful environment.
Cook: needed for about 6 to 8 weeks minimum
- Prepares 3 meals per day for staff and house guests
- Meals are home-cooked with fresh breads, desserts, vegetables
- Meals are served buffet style
- Menu and recipes are available as well as on site training
- Ranch personnel assist the cook when they can
- Manages kitchen and maintain Health Dept. standards
- Important to have good foundation for cooking, organizational skills, clean and safety minded
- Occasionally will be cooking for owners’ guests and family members. Generally cooking for 8-10 people.
- Housekeeping duties included as needed
Benefits: We provide housing (private room with bathroom ensuite) , home-cooked meals, WiFi connection, laundry services and more. The pay depends on experience and includes a monthly salary and a bonus at the end of the season. Days off: 1.5/week.

All employees of Focus Ranch must be current on their Covid vaccines and booster by the start date. Proof of vaccination will be required.
