Private
This role is part ranch manager, part facilities foreman. The person who notices what needs doing, gets it done, and takes pride in keeping the place running.
We’re looking for the kind of person who doesn’t just work on a farm — they anchor it. Someone who treats the land, the animals, and the operation with the same pride they’d treat their own. Think: protector, fixer, backbone, teammate.
About the Role
This is not a 9–5. Some days are smooth, others are long and unpredictable. Things break at inconvenient times, and you’ll be the one trusted to judge urgency, set priorities, delegate when needed, and make sure it all gets handled. You’ll hold responsibility for the physical heartbeat of a modern, high-end equestrian operation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Repairing and maintaining fences, gates, barns, and arenas
- Proactively upkeeping tractors, UTVs, golf carts, and equipment before problems find us
- Spotting small issues early and solving them before they become big ones
- Thinking creatively about improvements and bringing new ideas forward
- Knowing when to handle something yourself and when to call in backup
- Getting your hands dirty one minute and representing the farm professionally the next. This doesn’t mean you’ll be expected to show up to work in a suit – it can be as simple as “hands dirty” = fixing a door knob in the tack room and “representing professionally” = stopping the drill to greet a client walking through the door
- Working with a dynamic, high-performing team — supporting them and being supported in return
- Growing with us: building systems, and eventually a team you can trust to support your responsibilities as the farm expands
Who You Are
- Fiercely loyal. We’ve got your back. You’ve got ours — no questions asked, no doubts. That doesn’t always mean agreement, but it means trust, honesty, and showing up through good days, hard days, and tough conversations.
- Protective and proud. You take pride in keeping things safe, functional, and sharp. Bonus if you’re wired to always see “the next five projects” to make things better — and jotting those ideas down so you can find them again when you’re ready to tackle a project somehow fuels you rather than drains you.
- Handy and resourceful. Comfortable across at least a couple of the following: plumbing, electrical basics, carpentry, welding, or mechanics — and smart enough to know when to call in backup. You may not know everything, but you’re eager to learn and enjoy picking up new skills.
- Steady under pressure. Calm, logical, and decisive. You can prioritize rationally and earn respect by the way you carry yourself.
- Balanced. Firm when needed, fun when appropriate. You read the room and carry respect naturally. And when you don’t get it right? You own it. Apologies are respected here.
- Team-minded. You work collaboratively with staff and carry the common sense to know what to say and what not to say in front of fellow staff and clients alike.
- Proud of your work. When the farm looks its best and everything works the way it should, it feels like a personal win, one that shows in how you carry yourself.
Culture
This place runs on trust, pride, and initiative. We don’t micromanage, but we notice when people see what needs doing and do it. We respect people who bring ideas that elevate the operation and themselves along with it. We expect hard work, long days when needed, and the willingness to shoulder responsibility. In return, you get loyalty, respect, and a central role with opportunities for growth.
Compensation
Top of the market for the right person.
