Position:  Ranch facilities manager skilled in buildings maintenance, equipment operations and auto mechanic repairs.

Ranch Description

• Location: Imnaha, Oregon.
• Remote, mountainous, 4,000 acres
• Buildings: main ranch house, shops, barns, cabins
• Visitors:  Summer guests and non-professional hunting in the fall
• Cattle operation:  leased out thus not a part of the facilities manager position

Job Description

• Perform general property operations, maintenance, upkeep and repair:
  • Property grounds, roads and trails
  • All buildings, cabins, shops and barns
  • All machinery and automotive equipment
• Seasonal, 6 months, May – November
• Includes separate house for living quarters
• Does not include hunting tags or time off during peak hunting season

Building Maintenance

• Maintenance areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliances, fireplaces, well pump, internet
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep each building safe, clean, functional, and efficient

Mechanical

• Operate, maintain and repair all equipment: trucks, ATV’s, heavy equipment, chainsaws, log splitter, lawn mower, well pumps, solar panels, hot tub, yard irrigation system
• Organize and maintain inventory of shop tools, machine parts and equipment

Ranch Property and Groundskeeping

• Maintain roads and trails
• Wildlife habitat work
• Clear felled trees
• Cut and stock firewood
• Landscaping, lawn care, tree planting
• Operate and maintain yard irrigation systems
• Light ranch work when needed

Hospitality

• Organize and prepare residence for owner and guests visits
• Providing basic support, services and hospitality for owner and seasonal guests
• Organize housekeeping services

Ideal Candidates

• Experienced and skilled in all property management and maintenance areas: carpentry, plumbing electrical engineering, ranch machinery, auto mechanic, lawncare
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, walk 2 miles and confidently perform physical tasks
• Goal setting, organized, efficient, responsible, productive
• Ability to work long days or the occasional weekend
• Understanding and appreciation of a working cattle ranch culture
• Support and understanding of wildlife harvest
• Service and hospitality orientated
• Enjoys mountain living in a small remote community
• Drug free, non-smoker
