We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ranch Hand to join our team. As a Ranch Hand, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of our livestock, as well as performing various tasks related to farm operations. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of animal husbandry and mechanical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation and be able to lift heavy objects. The ranch hand will work in a fast-paced environment and must be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions. Duties:
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, watering, and monitoring the health of whitetail deer and exotics
- Perform regular maintenance and repair tasks on farm equipment and machinery
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors and forklifts
- Use power tools to complete tasks such as carpentry
- Assist with planting and harvesting crops in our fields
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform equipment repairs
- Lift heavy objects and move them around the farm as needed
- Work closely with the farm team to ensure the smooth operation of the ranch
Understanding of hunting, equipment, and practices.
- Filling protein and corn feeders
- Fence monitoring and maintenance
- Assist in the maintenance & upkeep of ranch property
- Assist with game cameras to inventory herd
- Predator control
- Vehicle and building maintenance
- Planting and fertilizing food plots
- Brush clearing
- Guiding hunting guests on an as-needed basis
- Keeping tree stands clean and in good condition
- Using tractors to maintain the fields, plant food plots and clear brush
Requirements:
- Basic math skills
- Experience with animal husbandry and animal handling
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform equipment repairs
- Familiarity with power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
- Experience with growing and harvesting crops
- Experience with hunting and hunting equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances
- A passion for agriculture and a commitment to maintaining the health and well-being of the farm’s livestock and crops.
