We are a nonprofit animal sanctuary located on the beautiful North Fork of Long Island, seeking a skilled, experienced and reliable Farm Manager to help maintain our property and support our mission of providing a safe, loving home for rescued animals.

Position Overview:

The Farm Manager will be responsible for maintaining the land, buildings, and equipment to the highest standards. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, experience, practical skills, and a deep respect for animals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair farm structures, buildings, and grounds
  • Operate, maintain, and perform basic repairs to farm equipment (tractors, mowers, etc.)
  • Install, replace, and repair fencing as needed
  • Perform general handyman tasks to improve and preserve the property
  • Ensure animal areas are safe, secure, and well-maintained

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in farm or property management
  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to diagnose and fix equipment issues
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and general repair skills
  • Reliable, organized, and self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a strong plus
  • Must be comfortable working around animals
  • Valid driver’s license required
