Ranch Foreman Job Description

Primary location: Live Oak & McMullen County, Texas

Description: Seeking self-motivated, dependable, hard worker for South Texas hunting ranches.  Looking for someone with problem solving skills, that takes pride in quality work.

Job Duties:

  • Facilities, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, and light mechanical skills
  • Ranch water system maintenance: Including water troughs, floats, water lines and monitoring of wells
  • Operate equipment such as tractors, skid steer, backhoe, feed trailers, mowers, chainsaws, landscape trimmers, and other farming equipment.
  • Landscape Maintenance and repair of sprinkler systems
  • Inspect, construct, maintain and repair fencing
  • Mechanical & chemical brush control
  • Keep houses, barns and grounds well maintained.
  • Basic welding skills a plus (desired but not required)
  • Assist with hunting operations: Including filing and maintaining feeders, blinds, and other ranch equipment. Deer scouting & predator control; including the use of game and video cameras.  Assist in processing of harvested animals.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, guests, contractors, coworkers and landowners.
  • Good communicator and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organized, detail oriented, dependable, reliable, flexible, patient, even tempered and a positive attitude.
  • Adaptability & flexibility to manage unexpected repairs and changing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work outside in strenuous conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Must be able to lift 60lb. and perform physical labor.
  • Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid Texas hunting license and valid driver’s license
  • Must be well groomed.
