Skills Needed
- Mechanical abilities (Required)
- Welding skills (Required)
- Ability to address plumbing, pipeline repair/maintenance, sprinkler systems (Preferred)
- Electrical skills (Preferred)
- Carpentry skills (Preferred)
Ranching (Physical)
- Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment (regularly scheduled maintenance of all ranch vehicles and equipment [i.e. oil changes, hydraulic filters and oil replacement, etc.])
- Maintain records of any repairs performed on vehicles and equipment
- Ability to operate various equipment and drive trucks and trailers
- Experience in plumbing (pipelines and sprinkler systems)
- Water monitoring (especially necessary at the main ranch compound)
- Water pipeline repairs
- Repairs of leaks in drinking troughs and storage tanks
- Maintenance of house, barns, outbuildings, corrals, etc
- Various welding projects (corrals, H-braces for fences, etc.)
- Check fence conditions
- Fence repairs
- Feed horses hay
- Check water for horses
Range Improvement Projects
- Prepare and implement range improvement plans
- Spray trees and brush with chemical
- Erosion control projects (rock, wire and tree diversions)
