Kameron Ranch
This is a hands-on outdoor position involving ranch maintenance, heavy-equipment operation, pasture improvement, vegetation management, prescribed-fire support, cattle infrastructure and wildlife habitat work. We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing a job correctly, notices problems before they become expensive and treats equipment as if it were their own.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate tractors, skid steers, loaders, excavators, UTVs and other ranch equipment
- Mow and maintain pastures, roads, firebreaks, ditch banks and fence lines
- Inspect, grease, clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Repair fences, gates, water systems and other ranch infrastructure
- Apply herbicides using backpack, UTV and larger spray systems
- Assist with prescribed burns and firebreak preparation
- Assist with invasive-species control, wildlife habitat projects and feral-hog trapping
- Perform general ranch maintenance and other work as conditions and seasons require
- Assist in feral hog trapping program
Required Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual and able to work with limited supervision
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience safely operating tractors or comparable agricultural/heavy equipment
- Able to work outdoors in heat, rain, mud and other Florida ranch conditions
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Willing to follow instructions, communicate problems and work safely
- Careful and responsible with equipment, vehicles, tools and chemicals
- Able to perform basic equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance
Preferred Experience
- Running Equipment
- Equipment maintenance and minor mechanical repairs
- Fence construction and repair
- Herbicide application
- Prescribed burning
- Wetland, habitat or wildlife-management work
