Family-owned ranch located in Anderson County Texas
We are seeking a couple to assist with the management and care of a multi home recreational, cattle and wildlife Property. This is a full-time year-round position with housing provided if required. Although we are a small family operation we manage wildlife, cattle, and hay. We would like to re-establish our vegetable garden, fruit orchard and hen house. The ideal candidates would be dependable, hard-working, detail oriented, flexible, self-directed, and organized.
RANCH HAND/ GROUNDSKEEPER/ GARDNER
This position would be responsible for assisting the Ranch manager/owner with general ranch maintenance, cattle and hay as necessary. In addition, would be responsible for reestablishing the family vegetable garden, orchard and henhouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- re-establishing organic fruit tree orchard, vegetable garden, and henhouse for ranch family consumption
- assisting with mowing, brush control, roads, trails, and general ranch grounds and structure maintenance
- assisting with pond management, wildlife operation, including fence
- maintenance feeder management and surveys etc.
- assisting with 50 head cow/calf cattle operation
- assisting with hay operation
- operation and basic maintenance of ranch equipment, including mowers to vehicles, tractors, etc.
- supporting property management and family needs as required
DOMESTIC HOUSEKEEPER/OCCASIONAL COOK AND CHILDCARE PROVIDER
This position would be responsible for assisting owners with the household chores, house cleaning, Family errands, pet care, and occasional childcare.
- General housekeeping, cleaning and laundry
- feeding and caring for family pets as needed
- occasional meal preparation and cleanup
- visits to town for groceries dry cleaning, etc.
- occasional childcare for grandkids
- occasionally assisting with meal service for family gatherings
- assist with household administrative duties
QUALIFICATIONS
- prior experience in ranch management, gardening, hospitality, in private household settings
- ability to work independently, but also as part of a team that includes family and other employees
- strong work ethic and family values
- love of country, outdoors, livestock, wildlife and home cooking
- flexibility to handle all aspects of ranch and household responsibilities as required
- desire to apply the skills and experience you have and learn what you need to
must pass background check and drug test
