We are a 6,000+ acre exotic hunting ranch in the hill country near Bandera, TX. We are seeking a hardworking, motivated, honest and trustworthy ranch-hand with an interest in ranch life and ranch work who is looking for longterm, full-time employment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and improvements to ranch infrastructure as needed.
- Maintain and manage repairs for all ranch equipment.
- Act as a proactive problem-solver
- Animal Care: Monitor and refill corn and protein feeders. Put out daily supplemental feed, water, and hay to ensure proper nutrition for wildlife. Conduct regular animal welfare checks.
- Maintain and improve roads and fences throughout the property
- Serve as hunting guide and be prepared to clean and skin game animals
- Set and maintain trap lines for predator control and varmints
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the Owner.
Qualifications and requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience working on a ranch or in a related field is preferred
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds or more and working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently with initiative and as part of a small team
- Prior experience operating and maintaining ranch equipment (e.g., tractors, trailers, backhoe, bulldozer) is preferred
- Any experience in trade work (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanic work) will be viewed favorably
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid drivers license and personal transportation. (Work truck provided for ranch operations during work hours)
- Must have familiarity and ability to safely operate a variety of firearms and oversee safe firearm range practices
