Cattle ranch in Texas is seeking a motivated, dependable all‑around ranch hand. The ranch is family owned and managed. This role requires someone who is a self‑starter, able to work independently, and comfortable handling a wide range of daily ranch operations. This is not a riding or cowboying position at this time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Water system operation, maintenance, and repair
- Assisting with cattle work as needed (vaccinations, horn measurement, branding, pasture moves, medical care, pregnancy checks)
- Daily cattle oversight (feed, hay, water, general monitoring)
- Horse stable care: mucking stalls, feeding, watering, and overall maintenance
- Duck house cleaning, feeding, and upkeep
- Fence repair and maintenance
- Operating tractors, lawn mowers, weed eaters, sprayers, and other equipment
- Service and maintain ranch equipment as needed
- General ranch duties and maintenance as assigned (may vary dependent on ranch needs)
Requirements
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to operate tractors, skid steers, and similar equipment (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Punctual, reliable and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Subject to a background check and drug screening
- Prior ranch experience preferred but not required
Position Details
- Hours per week needed regularly fluctuate based on seasons and emergencies.
- Full‑time and part‑time positions available (open to discussion for the right candidate)
- 40-60 hours average per week for full time position, can be more
- Competitive Salary based on experience
