Ranch Hand / Groundskeeper

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Ranch Hand / Groundskeeper to help maintain the grounds, buildings, equipment, and overall condition of our diversified ranch operation in eastern Texas.
This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in a well-maintained property, and can complete assignments with minimal supervision. Current work emphasizes landscaping, equipment operation, property upkeep, and general repairs. Animal husbandry is planned for the ranch’s future, and responsibilities may expand as the operation develops.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds and Landscaping
- Mow, edge, weed-eat, and maintain lawns, landscaped areas, and grounds.
- Maintain planting beds and trim vegetation around buildings, fences, roads, and walkways.
- Remove fallen limbs, trash, and debris to keep the property clean, safe, and presentable.
- Assist with irrigation upkeep and minor landscape repairs.
Equipment Operation and Care
- Safely operate tractors, mowers, skid steers, ATVs, and other ranch equipment appropriate to your training and experience.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, inspections, fueling, and basic maintenance.
- Keep tools, vehicles, and equipment organized, properly stored, and ready for use.
- Promptly report mechanical problems, damage, and needed repairs.
Fences, Roads, and Property Maintenance
- Inspect and repair fences and gates and keep fence lines clear of overgrowth.
- Help maintain ranch roads, driveways, crossings, and walkways.
- Perform general repairs and assist with property improvement projects.
- Identify maintenance needs and report hazards or larger issues promptly.
Buildings and Facilities
- Keep barns, storage areas, shops, and workspaces clean and organized.
- Assist with routine building upkeep and minor repairs.
- Clean and maintain outdoor gathering areas, furniture, and other ranch amenities.
- Help prepare the property for owner visits, guests, and special activities as needed.
Future Animal Care
- As animals are introduced, assist with feeding, watering, enclosure upkeep, and other assigned care.
- Observe animals and promptly report signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior.

Physical and Working Conditions
Work involves extended periods outdoors in varying weather, walking on uneven ground, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting or carrying tools and materials. Applicants should be able to perform the essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Longer hours may be needed depending on ranch activities and seasonal demands.
