													Assist with the preparations and implementation of land management techniques, summer projects, ranch/facilities maintenance and hunting season. The ranch hand/seasonal employee will be responsible for ensuring successful operations on the ranch.
Land Management:
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment to manipulate habitat
 - Disking, backhoe, dozer, shredding, and grading
 - Perform individual plant treatment (IPT) to control invasive species
 - Spray foliar or basal mix on mesquite during the summer
 - Implement prescribed burns
 - Water management – Dove tanks, solar-powered wells, etc.
 - Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) to map and monitor habitat management
 - Perform surveys and maintain records to monitor rainfall and populations of wildlife
 - Propose ideas to improve habitat for local wildlife
 
Ranch & Facilities Management:
- Chainsaw roadways
 - Cut Firewood
 - Upkeep of vehicles and equipment
 - Repair busted water lines
 - Building upkeep
 - Fill and maintain feeders
 - Operate feed truck on a weekly basis
 - Maintain records pertaining to the upkeep of facilities and equipment
 - Vehicle maintenance
 - Equipment Maintenance
 - Inventory and stock items needed for the shop during the year
 - Shop equipment and materials
 - Coordinate and direct contractors
 
Hunting Season:
- Guide guests for upland game birds, waterfowl, turkey, feral hog, white-tail deer, and nilgai
 - Collect data from harvest information
 - Interact with guest in a professional manner
 - Maintain vehicles, equipment and facilities to professional appearance
 - Operate trail cams and monitor harvestable game
 - Process harvested game
 - Scout wild game prior to season and hunt
 
Other:
- Wildlife related degree preferred but not required
 - Must have excellent people skills
 - Ability to adapt and learn in a variety of situations
 - Experience with hand tools, power tools, and other ranch equipment
 - Knowledge of wildlife and hunting practices
 - Fortitude to work in extreme conditions
