The Lake Lodge is a full-service lodge and restaurant located on Rock Creek Lake, about 30 minutes/10 miles from the Ranch via UTV. It offers numerous activities including darts, horseshoes, tiki toss, kayaks, paddleboards, fishing, and rental of a pontoon boat. Hiking is also available at the lake from several trailheads in the area. Some Members and their guests will come for day use such as lunch and outdoor activities, while others enjoy overnight stays and private dinners. The Lake Lodge is open from early June to the end of September.

The lodge is fully off-grid, and all supplies are brought up regularly by the team. Cell service is not guaranteed at the Lodge. There is satellite Wi-Fi, radio, and a satellite phone for safety purposes.

Position Summary

Attendants are responsible for the operation, upkeep, housekeeping, and minor maintenance at the Lodge and surrounding areas. The Attendant will be cooking, serving, cleaning, and performing physical activities such as lifting objects up to 75lbs daily.  Having knowledge of fishing, boating, and outdoor recreation is a must. The team will work in two overlapping shifts, 8am – 4pm, and 11am – 7pm. Start and end times may vary based on reservation schedule. Driving a UTV or ATV to and from the Lodge from headquarters on the ranch will be a daily occurrence. Strong verbal skills as well as customer service skills that surpass the expectations of members and their guests are a must. The Attendants are also responsible for setting up at the beginning of the season and breaking down at the end of the season, with assistance from other team members within the department.

Housing might be available for $395 a month. Rent will be deducted directly from your paycheck. No pets allowed. Member overnight stays at the Lodge will require an attendant to stay overnight as well. A “glamping” tent with a wood stove is provided for the attendant these nights.

Responsibilities for this Position

  • Housekeeping Duties: Keeping the Lodge clean and presentable for guests at all times, as well as maintaining a sanitary space for food preparation and storage.
  • Cooking Duties: Preparing and cooking a full, yet basic, menu for lunch and dinner. Dinner is by private reservation only, so just one group per night maximum.
  • Communication: Communicate efficiently and personably with guests, members, and the team. This includes becoming familiar with member preferences such as activities, times available, equipment, and other helpful information. Every member and guest should feel special and welcome every visit.
  • Groundskeeping consists of but is not limited to maintaining the surrounding grounds to a presentable standard. This includes spraying weeds, weed eating tall grass, and clearing paths with a leaf blower,
  • Maintenance: Due to the remote location of the Lodge, the Ranch maintenance staff cannot always assist with every issue. Minor maintenance will be done by the attendants such as changing light bulbs, fixing a broken propane heater, etc.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and policies put forth by the Company, including boat/water safety, fire safety, food safety, and general precautionary measures.
  • Preparation: Maintain consistency of service by being aware of and prepared for all members, guests, events, and reservations. A large part of this will be checking the schedule regularly and maintaining inventory at all times.

  • Experience in resolving customer issues/concerns
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service. Every visit should feel like the members first.
  • Must have and maintain valid CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time as well (up to 6 miles or more) up steep stairs and/or rock terrain.
  • Must be able to lift or push up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to confidently operate a UTV and ATV
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and clean driving record. Driving is a job requirement.
  • Ability to grill/cook any requested menu item for guests
  • Must be willing and able to learn and try new skills
