High Lonesome Ranch
We are looking for a Ranch Manager to own the daily management of our family cattle ranch in Shelbyville, TN. Must be a trustworthy, hardworking, self-motivated individual. Ideally, we would like a candidate who would like to work on our ranch for many years to come. We value strong, dependable relationships. Although not extensive cattle management knowledge is required, we would prefer that you bring a certain baseline skillset to the table.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for livestock, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring to promote animal well-being.
- Operate heavy machinery such as tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment safely and efficiently to support field management and maintenance tasks.
- Bushhogging, haying, planting seed with tractor (season dependent).
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist with fencing, corrals, and shelter repair to ensure secure enclosures for animals.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks including breeding assistance, health checks, and general animal handling with care and expertise.
- Mow residential yard around primary house and ranch manager house.
- Own cattle registration paperwork for buying and selling of the herd.
