Sather Ranch
The Sather Ranch, located 40 miles north of Glasgow, Montana, is hiring immediately for the position of Ranch Manager (RM). Desired start date is April 1, 2019. Salary is dependent on experience but starts at $1,800/mo. with a high likelihood of increasing as our business grows and as the RM proves he or she can generate value within the operation. A private ranch house with basic utilities is provided.
The mission of the Sather Ranch is: Sustainably grown cattle and grain from a ranch committed to benefiting the environment and community. The primary responsibility of the RM is to create and implement a livestock plan that will support our mission. Within this role, the RM will have responsibility for cattle (stockmanship, herd management, nutrition, reproduction, health), pasture and range management (grazing planning, drought planning, pasture management, range monitoring), maintenance of related infrastructure and equipment, and will be available to help the operations/farm manager with grain and hay operations as time allows.
Must have some experience working with livestock and farm machinery. The ideal candidate would have experience in designing and implementing cell grazing systems, low-stress livestock handling, operating a variety of machinery, and possessing good mechanical skills.
