Beautiful Santa Ynez ranch seeks Ranch Manager committed to low impact, sustainable land and facilities management. This is a full-time position with paid vacations, health insurance and housing. The Manager’s two-bedroom home is set on a secluded, oak-studded ridge.
Responsibilities:
- Care for land and infrastructure of a historic multi-building ranch.
- Oversee a small olive orchard, assist in biodynamic food production, and help with animal care
- Hire and supervise outside labor and vendors
- Create budgets, plans and maintain records
- Organize and maintain tools and equipment
- Perform basic security and surveillance
- Assist in producing/gathering various art materials
- Be on call for emergencies large and small
Ideal skills and experience:
- Prior land, garden, tree care and irrigation system experience
- Competence in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and operating, maintaining, and repairing farm equipment
- Understanding of maintenance of animal pens
- Understanding of pond algae
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- Must pass a full background check and have a clean driving record
Compensation: Base Salary $65,000 to $80,000 per year also includes 2 bedroom home, all utilities, and health insurance. Final package based upon experience and skills.
