Ranch Property Maintenance Position
Small Ellensburg Ranch/Airbnb is looking for a long-term property maintenance person. This position is based on a 40- hour workweek; however, we believe in rewarding productivity. If your assigned responsibilities are completed thoroughly in fewer than 40 hours, you will still receive your full 40-hour weekly pay. Enjoying the outdoors is important as most of the work is done outside. Familiarity with regenerative agriculture or an interest in learning is a plus. Livestock knowledge (specifically cattle) is a plus as well but not required. PTO, vacation and holiday time are included, weekends are generally off. September and October during calving season we may need occasional on-call support.
Start date: July (flexible for the right candidate)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3pm (flexible on start/end time as well as hours per week)
Pay: $25-$30 /hr DOE
Commitment: Long term multiyear position with growth opportunities for the right candidate
Requirements:
- 3 stable job references (preferably long-term positions)
- 2 years of applicable experience (e.g. Groundskeeper, Landscaping, Construction, Farm hand, Mechanical Repairs, manual/physical labor, etc.)
- Drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be comfortable around livestock and other large animals (horses, cows, working dogs, etc.)
- Comfortable working outside in various conditions (high wind, rain, snow, heat, etc.)
- Some on call flexibility specifically during calving season (Sept-Oct)
Duties:
- Handling irrigation specifically handlines and flood irrigation.
- Pasture rotation for regenerative grazing
- Set up and maintenance of single strand electric fences
- General handyman repairs around the property such as fixing appliances, replacing fixtures, and keeping inventory organized
- Ground maintenance including mowing, spraying and weed eating
- Garbage and recycling
- Vehicle maintenance and washing (including livestock trailers)
- Package deliveries!
Benefits: 2 weeks PTO, paid holidays, 401K after first year, and gas stipend for candidates outside of Ellensburg (Moses Lake, Yakima, Cle Elum, etc.) Half of beef a year.
