Position Overview
Seeking a highly dependable, self-directed Ranch & Property Manager to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and stewardship of a private home and working ranch.
This is a demand-driven position. Ranch work follows weather, livestock, infrastructure needs, and seasonal conditions. This role is not structured around a standard 40-hour workweek. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work the hours required to properly maintain the property and care for livestock.
Role allocation:
- 60% Property & Infrastructure Management
- 40% Livestock & Ranch Operations
Consistent on-site presence is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Property & Infrastructure (Primary Focus)
- Daily inspection and oversight of buildings, barns, shop, roads, fencing, gates, and grounds
- Maintain roads and drag when needed due to weather or usage
- Check fence lines and perform repairs
- Monitor and maintain irrigation and water systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs
- Maintain equipment in operational condition
- Keep shop, barns, and storage areas clean and organized
- Ensure property security and controlled access
- Maintain personal residence, mowing, ect.
Livestock (Secondary Focus)
- Daily livestock checks (cattle and horses)
- Ensure proper feeding and clean water supply
- Maintain stock tanks and stalls
- Monitor and report health concerns immediately
Work Expectations & Standards
This position requires:
- Daily accountability and reliability
- Physical capability to perform outdoor labor in all seasons
- Availability during weather events, livestock issues, or property needs
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- The ability to work independently without supervision
- Professional conduct and respect for ranch assets
This is not a lifestyle position or a part-time commitment. Outside businesses, livestock operations, or personal ventures must not interfere with job performance, availability, or focus.
Housing is provided to support operational presence and responsiveness.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ranch, farm, or property management experience
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience
- Ability to manage time effectively without oversight
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation
